STEM day @ Littleheath School, Reading featuring the Medical Mavericks
At this event students got to use real medical kit to find out what goes on in a hospital. They were able to use: an ECG to record their heart, an ultrasound machine to see images of the inside of their body.
As well as the usual doctors, nurses and paramedics, the main focus will be on Healthcare Science careers that are responsible for 85% of all the diagnostic tests in the NHS.
Students found out about Physiology, Lab Science, Medical Physics, Medical Engineering and Bioinformatics, there was something for everyone that likes science, engineering, maths, IT & computing.
